Last Chapter : Ideals of The Past

Returning home, Tia immediately wrote a letter to the head of the palace. It was the Count’s job to investigate the inside of the palace, and asked for cooperation.

The emperor  also made it clear that he would like to hand over the information about all the insiders as soon as possible. There seemed to be no other way than to investigate Ian Belot without a doubt.

Of course, it was also necessary to find out those who dared to poison His Majesty if he was not the real criminal.

When Tia finished some of the things, the butler came in and the guards came to see her. Then she headed to the living room to meet them. As she stepped inside, two knights sitting on the sofa stood up and greeted her.

“Long time no see, Lord Monique.”

“Lord Seymour, Lord Lank, hello. Are you two guarding me?”

As she asked with a gentle smile, Sir Seymour said, shaking his head lightly.

“No, for the time being, the escort of  Lady will be in three shifts with six people. I hope you understand even if it’s a little uncomfortable.”

“Six people? And then how about His Majesty…….”

“I was told that this time His Majesty would be recruiting about fifteen new people. So there will be no problem. “

“I see. I see. By the way, Sir Seymour, have you changed your partner? I remember you were originally with Lord June.”

“Lord June is off duty now. It’ll probably come back to normal next time.”

“Yes, it’s because of the yellow dust, everyone has more time to rest.”

Sir Lank, who have a normal impression for the nobleman, said with dark blue eyes.

The sight somehow reminded her of Sir June. Unlike Sir Seymour, who was silent, the knight with reddish brown hair was cheerful.

“Yes, sir. Three days ago, His Majesty was in such a good mood that he gave him a break for the first time since he ascended the throne. Thanks to you, we all got a good rest. That’s why Lord June is off duty.”

“That’s enough, Lord Lank.”

“Thank you very much, Lady Monique, It’s all thanks to you”

“What? What…….”

What do you mean, thanks to me?

As she asked with her eyes wide open, Lord Seymour, who swallowed his cough, held Lord Lank’s shoulder.

“Lord Rank, that’s enough.”

“What’s the matter? I have something to tell the lady “

“You’re so…….”

“Please take good care of Your Majesty…….” said Sir Seymour, who hurriedly shut up Lord Lank’s mouth.

“Not a big deal, Lady. Never mind.”

“But…”

“You really don’t have to worry. Then we’ll get going now. I’ll be outside the door, so call me whenever you have an emergency.”

Tia stared blankly at Sir Seymour dragging his colleague out of his way, looking quite out of tune with his neat uniform.

‘What the hell’s going on?’

Was it three days ago? What happened that day?

Three days ago, there was an inauguration ceremony. He was a little late for the ceremony, and refused to take the blood oath, and she went back to find him, and push him to take the oath no matter what. And…Suddenly, her thoughts passed by and Tia face burned up. She don’t think it’s a good thing…..

 “That… … uh… … . “

Lord Lank, only saw her and laughed as he was dragged out. Sir Seymour, who alternately looked at Tia and Sir Lank, closed his eyes tightly.

Oh, my God. Just in case, was that true?

Do they all know that?

Tia face is getting more and more red. How did she see them in the future? t’s hard to think they didn’t know because they’re palace knight who always following him. But Tia  didn’t expect they knew all this.  When she was embarrassed and was unsure what to do, Rina appeared and said dinner was ready.

Tia jumped up and tried to go downstairs in a glad mood, but quickly back to her room. Her father isn’t here either, so she’ll have to eat with two people down now.

How can they face each other?

When Sir Lank, who looked at me with a bright look of joy, disappeared first, Sir Seymour said,

“I’ll be standing outside the door, so call me whenever you need me,”  and then left the room.

What should I do?

She have to go to Imperial Palace again tomorrow. She don’t know. It’s been a few days and the rumors are all over. While biting her lips, Rina, who had already brought food, laid out a plate on the table.

“Enjoy your meal miss…..”

A thought flashed through her mind when Tia saw the steaming dish. After a moment’s hesitation, Tia asked Rina as if she were passing by.

“You know, Rina.”

“Yes, miss.”

“…this, is it hard to make?”

“What? What?”

“Well, I mean……… I mean cooking.”

****

“What? Cooking? Why all of a sudden?”

Tia looked at Rina with her eyes wide open and sighed deeply.

What am I talking about now?

Somehow Tia felt so pathetic, and sent out Rina, who replied with nothing.

Why is she doing this today?

She often loses her composure due to a series of mistakes. This was really not like her. Tia Breathe in loudly and picked up the silver fork. She took the food silently to her mouth and put down the fork because she kept thinking about it.

Is it because I heard the stories of the guards just a while ago?

The day’s incident  was lingering in her head. The body was tight without any gaps, the gentle touch that wiped out the hair, and the hot breath that touched the lips. Suddenly, her breath stopped running and her heart beat quickly.

‘Get it together, Aristia. What’s wrong with you today?’

Tia tried to shake off her thoughts, but when she shook off the memory of that time, something else came to mind.

She was shedding tears without knowing what to do with him who had collapsed with a pale tired face. Whenever she saw him with Jieun, she was angry, but it seemed to be bearable. But when she saw him fall out of her arms and breathe out, she was about to call on the name of the god who she really hated.

Why was that ? What are you afraid of ?

Come to think of it, she didn’t have any concerns about the political situation or other situations that would make her dizzy. She was just worried and scared that she might never see him again.

Tia sighed and put down her fork, and suddenly she saw a music box lying on the table by the bedside. Decorated with platinum and sapphires, it was shining in a subtle silvery blue under the light. It went round and round. The sapphire tiara, reflected by the swaying candle, colored the silver hair blue. Like his eyes.

Tia put her hand on her beating chest. She shouldn’t do this, but she kept getting excited. The more she think of a kiss with him, the more she think of him laughing out loud.

Tia know she shouldn’t do this, but she was afraid. She might lose him.

I’m afraid you’ll leave me forever.

Tia looked down at the doll dancing with a smile, and slowly fell on her bed. Once again, she rolled up the blanket and listened to the music of the gentle melody that echoed softly.

It seemed that she couldn’t sleep tonight anyway…..
